I normally go to the store to buy sweet potatoes to make sweet potato chews for Cleo. A co-worker of mine let me know that she has been growing some and I could have some for free. I was so excite. Well today is the day and she gave me just one sweet potato... And all I can say is wow... Cleo is going to have lots of treats for a while. I need to make space in my freezer! This is going to be such a pain to cut up so she BETTER be happy with her treats!

I use the recipe from one of our threads. But of course with this, I will have to spend a day making them. However I have been thinking of getting a dehydrator so we will see. I am going to use a part to make a pie though. So wont be that bad. I just need to make sure I have a good sharp knife or that sucker is going to be the end of me, just watch haha!

    Update

I ended up buying a dehydrator. I made enough sweet potato chews, or rather chips as they turned out, to fill an entire 40oz jar. And she loves them. That was just with a third of the potato.

I ended up using another third to make 2 sweet potato pies. Cleo apparently likes this too as she stole half a pie piece from me while I was eating it! :rolleyes2::lol:

The other third I cut up into long strips and froze. I will be using that to make more chews when Cleo runs out.
