Our yard is a bit too small for Willow to go all out. We can play a little soft toss frisbee or use the flirt pole but she never runs flat out back there. However, I've found a way to use the local dog park safely. There are two sections. One is for larger dogs and one for the smaller. The small one is hardly ever used during the day on Mondays through Fridays.

We walk past the park on our usual route so now we check it. If no one is in the small dog section, we head on in. Then Willow goes to work and trolls the dogs on the other side of the fence until she gets one of them to play chase up and down the fence line with her. It takes the worry out of it all and still satisfies her desire to play with other dogs. I love to watch her run, her pure joy is infectious and I always have a smile watching her.

Anyway here are a few shots and snippets of video that show Willow having fun this morning.

And the first place she went when we got home:

We have a great dog park here also has 2 areas for small & large dogs, but there have been some issues with dogs who are intact so we decided to wait until next year when Cooper is over a year and has been neutered. I was really disappointed and apparently it’s not monitored in anyway to get rid of the offenders. We walk the trail with him and that seems to suffice for now. Looks like Willow had fun and came home to a comfy pillow lol :)

That's a great idea, Glenn. Watching Willow run made me smile too! Loved the arrival home...a tired Sheltie is a good Sheltie! We're fortunate to have space to run on our property and it's great to see the dogs stretch out and go. We're all happier after they've had a good round of exercise!

Love this! She is SO fast! You should try some agility jumps in your yard Glenn - don't need much space - very, very low until she is older.

I love the slow motion footage! Shelties are poetry in motion when running. Her fur is beautiful!

Yep that was the one with a hurt leg. Sca played but every picture I am in you can Spot him. Spitfire just ran off and went nuts. The big dogs ran him over a dozen times and he just kept rushing in anyway.
