It's Super Windy

Today is the second day that the wind around our place has been gusting at 60 to 70 mph.
Teddy has been super vigilant and when we have been outside his ears are flat and he doesn't want to stay out to long.On his last outing he came and huddled under my blanket.
I wonder if it hurts his ears and if there's anything I can do to help him?

Holy cow that's some crazy wind. It might just be too much for his sensitive ears, but short of earplugs I don't know what would help. You could try a cotton ball in each ear but I bet he'd just shake his head. Hope the wind settles down. It's supposed to be crazy hot here in a couple of days , like 90 which is nuts for mid-March. Seems Mother Nature is on a rampage lately.

Ugh we have high winds here a lot--not 50 but 30-35 mpg gusts on 20 sustained. I refuse to walk in it and none of the shelties have liked it. My husband (was a hunter) explained no animal likes high wind, it messes with their senses. They can't hear or smell correctly. Not painful, just disorienting.

The high winds are heading our way by this afternoon, with heavy thunderstorms (in March, crazy!) later tonight when we'd really like to be sleeping. I've had some dogs who are more wind-sensitive than others. Checkers absolutely hated wind and interestingly, her granddog Misty is the same. I give her a calming chew wth natural ingredients when I know it's coming. It doesn't drug them but does take the edge off with chamomile and other herbs. There are two I like, one is Composure by Vetriscience (I think they're calling it Calm and Confident now) and the other is Quiet Moments by NaturVet. That one has melatonin in it so I use that at night. Both on Amazon or Chewy.

Poor Teddy, I'm not a fan of wind either. Stay safe, everyone!

Interestingly Angus loved it blowing through his fur. Of course being 99% hair it probably felt good.
