Joining Local Sheltie Club

    Now that I'm interested in conformation I feel obligated to join a local sheltie club.

    Two meet during the week and the 3rd is like 70 miles south of me but meets on Sundays. I would rather join one than my local KC :no:

    I'm just not into these kind of clubs.

    I think it's a great idea. I did it, and got to meet a lot of experienced conformation breeders who were willing to help me learn about the sport.

    wow- you have three sheltie clubs in your area?:eek2:
    the closest I know of to me is two states away.........
    or very far north in my state.....

    technically, there are two:

    Shetland Sheepdog Club of Greater Birmingham
    Margaret Wade, RR 2, Box 367, Oneonta, AL 35121 Email
    this one has conformation on Nov 8-9 in Decatur.....

    Shetland Sheepdog Club of North Alabama
    Sally Hyatt Email
    this one has conformation on Nov 6-7 in Decatur.....

    Yes Milwaukee SSC, Chicagoland SSC, and Interloching SSC Of Monee My breeder is a member of the latter and the one that meets on Sunday. I'll probably join it.

    kinda jealous that you have choices:winkgrin:

    the two in Alabama are 4+ hours away so the one that is two states away in New Orleans is the closest to me....:rolleyes2:

    We have three within shouting distance. I'm becoming an associate member of the Central Virginia Shetland Sheepdog Club. We're hosting the ASSA Nationals in April - wahoo!!!

    Interesting but Spitfire is the only pretty one in the house so he has to do flyball (though it might be fun to got to Decatur to see)

    Though isn't it strange to have two back to back in the same place and one during the week? Or is that normal in conformation?
