Hi. We just recently rescued two sheltie mix puppies. They are 1/2 beagle and 1/2 sheltie. Mom was a beagle, dad was a sheltie. The owners of the mom are avid hunters, and when they saw that the pups she had weren't full beagles, the husband told the wife she had to get rid of them or he would "dispose of them". So, she put an ad in the paper with their birth date, trying to find them homes. She couldn't keep them because her husband wouldn't let her.

We contacted her about the litter because there were 7 puppies, and these pups were just a little over four weeks old. She explained the situation to me, and we rescued 2 of them. We have already had them vetted and they are on a wellness plan at our vet which includes spay/neuter when they are old enough. They were full of worms, especially the boy, and we thought we might lose him. There is a boy named Alexander Storm that we call Xander and there is a girl named Alexandra Tempest that we call Alex. They look like shelties but just with the beagle face and longer ears like a beagle.

Here is a picture of each of them.

The girl at last weight was 2.7 lbs and the boy 3.1 lbs. They are 5 weeks old as of 3/20/12.

We are committed to making sure that they have a wonderful home with us and that all of their needs are met and they are very loved and cared for.

They are adorable! I can't imagine that anyone would not want those two. Hope they feel better soon, and glad they found their way to you.
