Does anyone else have Shelter with skin so dry it's like doggy dandruff if so how do we treat it??
I've always supplemented with an omega-3 (salmon oil or sardines) and for awhile gave coconut oil.
With his yeast infection and super dry skin, I'd be looking at possible allergies...
Thank you.ragwee is really high out there now and I stopped him from trying to eat a weed last week. Guessing it could be a bit of both. We've had a lot of rain. Great fungus weather. I'll add the omega3 also and see how it goes. He just had a Burt's Bee bath for dogs with sensitive skin. BTW I like sardines too LoL
This is what my vet gave me when Missy had some dry skin issues. https://www.chewy.com/dermoscent-essential-6-spot-on-medium/dp/167765
Note, my vet is holistic.
I also like this shampoo, but my vet didn't recommended it or anything. https://www.chewy.com/hylyt-hypoallergenic-shampoo/dp/119226
Thank you very much.is Luke supposed to eat the Omega 3 or have it rubbed into his skin???? Just call me dummy lol
I am allergic to coconut in all it's forms. I'm thinking it was the oatmeal I added to his diet it's timeline and the appearance of the itchy skin seems to have appeared around that time
Had one other dog allergic to oats. She got a cough Thanks, love and hugs and a big bark from Sir Barkalot
Neither of the products I posted are omega 3. The Essential 6 product is topical, similar to a topical flea medicine. It comes in a little pipette and you break it open and squeeze the product on the dog’s back between the shoulder blades, directly on the skin. You’ll have to part the fur a little to apply it.
But he doesn't have fleas
Thanks Margi.i think is allergies too
It's not a flea medication. But the application is similar to a topical flea med.
