We live in a suburb of Philadelphia and are looking to adopt a young female Sheltie. Several Sheltie shelters in the area have gone out of business. Any leads? Thanks!

    Thanks for the leads

Trini and Chris, I thank you for the leads. Trini, The shelter in NJ only adopts in NJ, and the other shelter is several hundred miles away. Chris, the site you suggested looks promising.

    I thank you both.

Even though Tri-State Sheltie rescue is for NJ, NY and CT, they used to often list shelties in PA. I do believe their director passed away a couple years ago, so I am not sure if they are still in business.

Good luck and keep us posted on what you find!

    Also, here is one:

Unfortunately, Tri-State Sheltie Rescue shut down following Julie's death.

The Harrisburg Shetland sheepdog club has a rescue. The people that are in charge of it are from Lancaster. Probably about an hour and a half to 2 hours from where you are. I am not sure where your town is but I live an hour and a half from King of Prussia and I am in the next county west of Lancaster County. Hope this helps you! Good luck!
