So for another big walk we decided to visit the ruined Dunstanburgh Castle. It was built in 1313 and played a part in the war of the roses. It's a strange place to visit as cows and sheep just walk around the paths. Monty was ok with the cows but decided that he must try to catch the sheep lol.

Monty is like "DUDE I am a SHEEP dog I can't just ignore your insolence!"

Lovely pictures as always! What a beautiful spot. I’m sure sheep herding would be great physical therapy for Monty:yes:

LOL that's exactly what I could picture him thinking!
You're all right, I would have loved to just let him loose and see if he would herd them. They need putting in their place as they had no fear and one even ran at little Monty so I picked him up to be safe haha. The only downside is there are signs everywhere warning that your dog will be destroyed if it is caught bothering the sheep :rolleyes2:....best not risk it ha.

I really enjoyed this walk as it is all flat and right on the coast. As well as walking with cows and sheep, there were a ton of wild and sea life along the way. There's also beaches, rockpools and a harbor to keep kids/dogs amused haha.

Such beautiful places you get to go to Darren! Wonderfully scenic...must be strange walking with the sheep and cows. I'd be worried a cow would run at me...but then again it is a cow:ROFLMAO: not a bull.
Ya, good thing you didn't let Monty go after the sheep! Piper would be like let me at em while spinning and barking (he hates horses and I don't think he'd differentiate between cows and horses:lol:)

We're you able to walk into the ruins or just around them?
So much more fun to learn the history this way rather than from a book!
