It has been so long since I checked in, but I sure do miss the forums. So as many know, I owned 2 shelties- Trapp & Jasper. I lost both within a year of each other to CHF. It was 1 yr. Ago this past March that Jasper let us. And 2 years ago, April my heart dog Trapp. I really never thought I would own another. On April 16th, my new puppy came home. His name is Winston. He is now 3-/2 months old.
‘Wow… is all I can say! I’m a bit out of practice, raising a new sheltie, but I love him to bits. Hope everyone is doing well, I’m going to catch up on threads.

Welcome back and I can’t wait to see pictures of Winston! I’m happy you allowed another Sheltie into your heart!
Having a puppy after years of an adult dog certainly is a big change! I went 15 years from my Cocker Spaniel until I got Piper so I can understand! If you haven’t already I found the best book to read when you have a new puppy (especially your first after years) is The Art of Raising a Puppy’s by the Monks of New Skete. Hands down the best book for raising a new pup the right way with the least amount of stress for you and the puppy!
Good luck and post those puppy pics!

Michele!!! Folks, this lady was one of the original Sheltie Nation stars from 16 years ago! She hosted two Southern Sheltie Gatherings, which were totally amazing. Welcome back to the fold! Prepare to be herded!!!

Ahhh, Pipers mom!
It is good to be back, I would pop on every now and then, as so many of us original members it seemed were all raising new puppies. Well fast forward..from 2009- 2023 many of us have had to say goodbye to our shelties. This is a wonderful family of sheltie owners/handlers etc. I’ll get pictures of Winston, ad soon as I get a membership paid.

I think of you and Cranberry so much. I have so many photos from gatherings, and Cranberry is in many. I’m overwhelmed with emotions, reading your post. I remember the day he was born. It’s good to be back. Much has changed in my life, that has impacted my life in so many ways. But loosing both of my boys, put me in such a state of loss, I miss them so. I have a 4 yr. Old German Shepherd Dog, and a very sweet rescue, predominant breed is GSD. His name is Quentin. The GSD is Django… and yes a theme! Congrats on the new puppy, so exciting

I’m afraid you and your dogs were probably before my time, I’ve only been around for maybe 8 1/2 years but it’s always great when a past member returns to the fold!

Welcome back Michele from another old-timer! I well remember, with great envy, the Southern Sheltie Gatherings. I've lost 3 Shelties since you've been gone, and oh how it hurts. All of us here totally get the heartache. But I'm glad you are opening your heart to another Sheltie. Can't wait to see pics of Winston, love his name.
I now have Faith, a 10 year old Tri, her nephew Elijah a 6 year old sable, and my Covid puppy Meadow is Elijah's niece, a sable merle.
