So I got criticized the other day because my sheltie had his ears back when it was windy. According to this stranger I am supposed to have him wear a snood to protect his ears when it's slightly below freezing and windy. My gut reaction is to laugh it off. Shelties have big ruffs and fuzzy ears and should be able to manage crossing a parking lot without a snood unless it's crazy cold. Right?

Now that's a first... have never heard of that one. Not sure you really need one if the dog is not out for an extended period of time.

I can say Shelby definitely would not tolerate one. She would have it pulled off in no time flat. But I do agree you must post pictures if you do try one.

I'm pretty sure that shelties are built to withstand cold and wind just fine. Including their ears :)

For sure, "No Snood" caught my attention. Never heard of a snood, so I had to look it up! It has been very windy the last few mornings during our walk. Going against the wind, Zulu's ears were folded back against his head. Looks like he knows how to handle the wind on his own. No snood needed!
