Pico's trip to the grand canyon

yeah... I figured that might happen. the share site was great for sharing photos but they killed it....wouldn't keep it and charge extra. You can't 'share a link' to a folder, just an album. so I get to share them individually I guess.

and we had probably 100 selfie attempts throughout the trip LOL. getting it right was a challenge :)

To borrow and paraphrase Roy's tears in the rain speech from Blade Runner (one of my fav btw): Pico to his fellow 4 leggers: "I've seen things you shelties would not believe, I 've seen holes in the world so big that no dog can see the other side, I've seen small animals scittering at the edge of forever, strange animals unknow to dogdome, now, one day, all those memories will be lost in time, like tears in the rain"- but then quickly added "but they are mine forever...."..thanks mom,

that is very sweet :)
I am not sure Pico enjoyed the sights per se, but I know he likes being with me and knowing that I chose to bring him with me on such a long trip and meet so many people.

No doubt PIco did not "see" the same Grand Canyon you did. Yours was one mostly of sight with some other stuff his was one of rich smells and sounds with some sight-- Wonder what the Grand Canyon smells and sounds like??- guess we will never really know. I feel that dogs (most animals) like us store experiences in their subconscious brain and that events in our lives all get filtered through those stored experiences and we react/make the decisions we do consciously based on subconscious processing. So in my mind Pico was changed in his world by all those experiences- relevant to him-- like it would us in our world. Like people who have experience rich lives seem to deal with things in a different way than those with limited background experiences so Pico is in good shape...he is a lucky and now wiser dog... and has stories to tell..

I just like giving Pico as much enrichment as I can....he is such a happy guy and he enjoys being able to share that with as many people as possible :) And I know how much he liked being with me. 7000 miles in the backseat of my car and he was near perfect, never barked, cried, or howled (I don't count him barking when he was left in the car when I had to go to the bathroom).
He just curled up and slept (or played with a toy). Over a dozen hotel rooms and weeks staying with relatives, no accidents or chewing or getting into trouble.

I just wish he could understand me when I told him how proud I am of him :) All I can do is reward him by taking him with me as much as possible.
