Yesterday I adopted a little hospice Yorkie lad named Rugby. He is almost 14 years old, is in stage 3 heart failure and has multiple other health issues including that he was very close to starvation when he came into rescue and even with a year of good food his little body is still very frail. The rescue spent this past year working to save his life including many many weeks in the hospital before they even listed him for adoption. Due to his medical issues and his age he sadly didn't get any applications after being listed for adoption since last December, so I knew it was time to step in and give this little old lad a safe and loving home for whatever comfort time he can have. He is a gentle little sweetie who loves to snuggle in anyone's lap and he is doing fine with our other dogs. Hopefully he can have at least a few months or more before it is time to let him go. So please welcome little Rugby and pray that life will give him some time to be happy in his new home.

Trini your heart is as big as all outdoors. A big, warm welcome to Mr. Rugby. I too hope the universe bestows some extra months of life on your new boy so he can soak up all the love and care. You are awesome. :hugs

Rugby is so lucky to have landed with you, Trini. As Sharon said, you are awesome and so generous and giving. He looks like a total sweetie and I bet he'll want many more months to spend in his wonderful new home. I hope he surprises you and thrives! :hugs
