Well it's time for another pub fail.

We had a family get-together so thought it would be nice to go a local pub for a drink and something to eat. The pub is split in half so to speak with the front room dog friendly and the back room as more of a restaurant where dogs can't go and you need to book tables etc.

I walk in the front with Monty and the owner comes over to pet him saying how beautiful he is. She asked if he bites and I told her no so she said as it's quiet to let him off the lead so he can have a sniff. I told her it's a bad idea as he gets himself into trouble but she insisted as he is "tiny and looks so sweet".
I gave her one of my horror stories and she laughed saying she can't believe this little dog would be like that. Well at her request I unclipped his harness and honestly about 0.001 seconds after the click he took off full speed towards the back room with the 2 of us giving chase. He made it to the reserved seating, jumped on the table and made off with a reserved sign. He must have spotted it on the way in and was just waiting for his chance.
Anyways after a chase around the pub we caught him and put him back on his lead. Luckily it was really the pub owners fault so she found it quite funny, now she also knows why Monty needs to be kept on leash at all times. As a memento and because he had become quite attached to it, we were given his plastic reserved sign to keep and take home :rolleyes2: As you can see, he is still proudly showing off his achievement at home.......

OMG that is too funny. I'm always amused when people don't listen to what you tell them.

You tried to warn her, Truly done in Monty style. What a grand boy! I even think the Queen would have got a chuckle. Thanks for sharing his latest adventures :)

For once I'm not feeling as guilty because as you 've said...she asked for it lol. I'm pleased he has given everyone a smile today, I have to admit I found this one quite funny, mainly because he didn't cause much damage or chaos for once haha.
Thanks for the laugh as well everyone, your comments always crack me up and Chris I think you summed up Monty perfectly :ROFLMAO:.

At least he wears down now when you have to catch him. At 11 Spitfire is slightly better to catch but when he 'escaped' at five you were in for a couple hours of frustration (heaven help if it was as you were planning on going out).

Or has his stamina got better again?
