Missy did really good at the Shamrock Showdown in Huntsville, TX. She had a rocky start at mat time on Friday.. kept running around. Mike got on to her and after the 2nd time she did it, I put her in her crate and we were done. I think she was just so excited! Unfortunately I wanted to work on running our new team, but we didn't get to because of that.

Saturday morning she bobbled the ball, but when I went to re-run her, I released her a little too far back, and she ended up going into the other lane. The boxloader for the other team yelled "NO" at her, and then Mike reached over and grabbed her when she came to the runback (he's 6'4", long arms) and told her to "cut that bleep out"... which she did. We didn't have any problems the rest of the tournament. She ran great! No bobbles, no dropped balls, one early pass, but that one was on me. It was a very interesting team with 2 green dogs. We did have to pull the whippet from the last race because he kept going around the jumps. Also we had Missy running 3rd and she didn't have any issues, so I was happy with that.

I of course, ran on a leg still healing from shin splints. I was in a lot of pain at the end of both days, but today the pain is pretty minimal. I'm still icing it and taking a rx NSAID. I'm really hoping agility class gets cancelled tonight... :fl

It's difficult when you're paying for something, to just not go.

I am just one of those personalities who doesn't like to throw in the towel easily. I guess stubborn would be the word.. lol. I blame HS Colorguard. It taught me to push through anything and everything. No excuses .

But I do think agility will get cancelled tonight because we had a cold front blow in yesterday and it will be like, 40 degrees and windy during class if we do have it. My agility instructor is a big wuss... jk. Also it rained a lot over the weekend.

Missy was too excited? I told you not to let her hit the bars for a pre-Shamrock trial celebration. :wink2: I'm glad she redeemed herself at the end. :biggrin2: Hope you feel better soon!

Hey, I tried. She was feeling the luck of the Irish. I tried to tell her she had Scottish roots, not Irish.. but she wouldn't listen.

Not really I have loaded up the bike when I thought conditions were dangerous or once when I had cramps and it is a LOT more than flyball. Take care of that leg or you will wind up an oldster warning others to not wind up sore.

Of course after getting run over my answer was to buy another race bike so maybe I better check the glass on my house

if I paid for class, then I would want to attend it....
not that if I was in bad physical shape, I would try to do much at the class....
Destin's obedience class starts next week- originally it would have been tonight but since it's Mardi Gras in the south- postponed til next week. weather-wise, we probably would have gotten pushed back anyhow:rolleyes2:

glad to hear that Missy did well though:yes:
