Sheltie club pool party

We recently joined a local(ish) Sheltie club, mostly based further south but a few of us members up in our area. They have an annual BBQ and pool party. I was told some of the Shelties swim. So Arden took each dog in individually to see what they would do. None of them were thrilled but nobody panicked. We let them mostly float. But indeed, some crazy Shelties were jumping in and out of the pool. It has a very gradual ramp entrance so they can get out easily. Just hilarious. I tried counting but I know I missed some - there were at least 25 dogs. Mostly sables, only one little Tri girl.

Not one argument among the pups, either.

Juno did GREAT. She was a bit reticent at first with so many new dogs in a new place, but honestly all 3 cruised around the large yard without being glued to our legs. I can tell you we took 3 exhausted dogs home! Here are a couple of photos.

Oh my what a group of shelties!!! I wonder how mine would do seeing another sheltie. They are SO reactive to other dogs, but the lady who sets up the Long Island sheltie picnic says all shelties love all other shelties.... that they 'know'. I'm like, mine might have missed that memo... not sure what they would do.

WHAT A FRIGGEN HOOT THAT MUST HAVE BEEN. Sheltie heaven what fun!! I know some long haired dogs like collies like to swim.. I think ours would "oh no not me" but it would be fun to see how they would react. What a nice event, fun for one and all. The question is -- is everyone certain they took home the correct sheltie??

I do not think there are that many Shelties in our whole city! There is one other Sheltie at Zulu's doggie daycare, the folks there tell me that Zulu and Scout occasionally hang out together.

Well they come from all over, mostly LA and environs, plus the handful of us further north. And, most of these folks have multiple dogs. The host was actually on the National Agility team with one of his Shelties some years ago.
