I just found out that we can go to Amazon.com and order items from Target.com, and they will give Sheltie Nation a donation for part of the purchase price, at no extra cost to us!!

Most of you already know that if you click on "SheltieNation.com" at the top of the page, then click on "Amazon.com" that what ever you buy from Amazon, they will kick back a donation to Sheltie Nation, at no extra cost to you.

A few days ago, I found a pair of sandals I wanted on Target.com, and decided to go down to Target to try them on. Well, we got there and they only had 1 pair and it was a size 9. Once I tried it on, I realized I needed a size 10 and they didn't have it. So, I was getting ready to buy them on line at Target.com, when they said I could use my Amazon.com account. So I wrote down the exact name brand and name of the style of sandal I wanted.
Then I went to SheltieNation, and clicked on "Amazon.com", clicked on the "shoe department" and typed in the information about my sandals. Got it for exactly the same price as Target.com. Kelly informed me today that the sandals came through with a donation for Sheltie Nation. So, if you're going to buy from Target.com, go through SheltieNation.com, and give a free donation to Sheltie Nation!!!

Also, watch some other on line orders. I have seen lots of stores selling their items through Amazon.com. Whenever you see something that says you can use your Amazon.com account, you should be able to go through Sheltie Nation, and then Amazon.com. In our tough economy right now, it's difficult to afford to give the donations you might usually make. So just take a few minutes and help out our favorite furbabies. Thanks!!!

    Wow! Who'd have thunk!

Kelly, you should post this somewhere very prominent so that we don't forget this. I suggest great big, blinking text, in flourescent colour, and that we get reminded with a two-by-four every time we sign in. :smile2:

What is the link to get to Target through Sheltie Nation or do you just look for Target on Amazon?

There isn't a direct link from Amazon.com to Target.com. Let's say you wanted to buy the baby-gate that Lightplum recommended to Emmy. First you go to Target.com and get the name of the item "The first years hands-free gate". Then go to SheltieNation.com, click on Amazon.com. For Dept click on "Baby", and for description put "the first years hands-free gate". The item from Target will show up with the exact same price and shipping costs. Just go ahead and purchase the item through Amazon.com, and Sheltie Nation will get a small donation. But it doesn't cost us anything!! Shipping time is same as Target.com would be too!

Actually, there is a direct link from Amazon.com--type in the search area "Target.com". It will show all Target.com items, although it is a little bit slower than if you just type in the Target description. Also available are New-port News and Lands End, and many, many more.

I'm making this a "sticky" thread so everyone will hopefully remember & explain a bit further how it works. :biggrin2:

Sheltie Nation gets a referral credit if you visit the Sheltie Nation website before shopping. This works by you clicking on any amazon ad that you see on the Sheltie Nation site. (This only applies to Amazon ads. Google ads are a whole other story & I wont bore you with that here. :sleepy: )

It doesn't matter what the Amazon ad is for, since the software remembers through which "door" you enter their site. You can then visit any area of the Amazon site or then visit sites that link to Amazon...like Target.

If you back out and then enter Amazon another way, Sheltie Nation will not get the credit. Likewise, visiting Amazon directly & trying to give credit to Sheltie Nation at checkout wont work.

So remember, when you shop Amazon to visit Sheltie Nation first! It may seem a little awkward to click on an ad for a Sheltie book when you want to buy salad tongs, but Amazon remembers who showed you the way!

It doesn't cost you anything to do this and it helps support both Sheltie Nation & the Sheltie Forums.

I am most grateful to everyone who participates!

    Thanks for the reminder.

Do you know if this works for Amazon.ca as well? (that's the Canadian affiliate). Obviously when I order from Amazon I order from there to avoid excessive shipping charges and exchange rate fluctuations.

I would think yes, if you entered Amazon the same way, then found a link to the Amazon.ca site once within the US one.

There is only one way to find out! :wink2:
