Willow doesn't pay attention to most television shows but she does enjoy watching Hudson and Rex. It's about a police detective and his German Shepherd The usual sequence for watching TV is I put up the foot support on my recliner. Then Willow jumps up and curls herself so she's lying against me and facing the television. She half dozes through most of the show but perks up when Rex is onscreen or if they show other four-legged friends.

When it ends, she just drifts into sleep until it's bedtime.

Step one, make yourself comfortable on Dad's recliner.

Step two, pay attention to the heroic dog and other furry ones.

Step three, fall asleep with Dad.

River is a big TV fan also. He loves to watch obedience trials with shelties, or freestyle heeling. I think he even learns some things by watching! I'm afraid he is a bit more exuberant and will jump up and down barking if he gets too excited. We have to work on that. Willow seems so calm.

Fun!!! It never ceases to amaze me how our shelties can watch tv!

Liam constantly watches if he sees dogs! Sometimes he will go behind the tv wondering where they are!

LOL, when I moved into a new place and bought a large flat screen TV, Cody suddenly became interested in a newscaster's voice and kept going up to the TV and looking behind it. He did it several times before deciding that the guy must be inside the TV and walking away.:joyful:

Your a great story teller Glen! Clearly just being on your lap is something Willow loves...watching tv is just a secondary bonus! She's one lucky girl!

When Brooke first came and we'd watch the "Too Cute" shows on Animal Planet (the one where they feature 3 different breed litters from birth to about 10 weeks of age), she would hear puppies crying and get all concerned. She had been a mom 3 times. She would also look behind the TV. It was so precious.

I love your Willow stories also, and the photos of her looking at dogs on TV are just so funny.

Cody watched TV all the time. Zulu not so much. He does pay attention when a dog barks, or a door bell rings. Then he must bark in response!

Minnie is totally indifferent to everything that goes on TV
she does not even respond if a dog bark :confused2:
But if one of the neighbors' dog barks - she is on her paws immediately :gaah
