Geez Margi poor Benny!! How uncomfortable for him. Glad you saw a wonderful vet to help you out. Prostate issues with unneutered males is not talked about much but it is definitely a thing. Maybe add some pumpkin to his diet until he's neutered?

the thing is, I never see them smoking on their balcony (I do go out and look sometimes). I just smell it. For all I know, they vape. So I could just be jumping to conclusions.
But I will let EVERYONE know when I get a puppy :)
I see a very long puppy thread in the forum's future.....

Funny about the tampon! I would have reacted the same! Poor Benson

Poor Benson! I can imagine being plugged up like that must’ve been VERY uncomfortable for him!
I hate to say it but you tell a good story…I had a few chuckles as well. Sorry Benny!

That's ok, I was so happy the awful weekend turned out to be nothing life threatening and a fairly easy fix I did write the post with a lighter tone than poor Benson's butt pain probably deserved! Dr. Amy said we don't have to do the neuter right this instant so I thought I would give the guy a little time to recover. So far so good! I'm a big fan of NCIS and my Gibb's gut was telling me something was wrong for months. Listen to your gut!

As I write this Benson is at the vet getting neutered. He had another horrible day of straining and pain on Sunday. It was my fault, I put him back on his regular food after a few days of recovery last week. In my defense I wasn't told to keep him on a soft diet till I got him snipped either, but that doesn't really make me feel any better!
Always on pins and needles till you know they are ok! Poor guy is gonna have the worse birthday ever tomorrow!

Oh Margi, thank goodness this will resolve the issue long term, but not the rush job you were anticipating. Poor Benny. Of course it's worrying when they are put under for procedures but he's young and healthy. Please let us know when he's safe and back home. Don't beat yourself up about it. :hugs

Margi, he'll have a wonderful birthday because he'll be home and done! I know it's not how you wanted to do it, but at least the problem will be resolved and Benny will feel better, and that's what counts. Lots of yummy birthday treats like chicken for his tummy won't hurt either! Pats to your boy.
