So a year ago at his annual check-up Oberon was about 49 pounds (gulp!). The vet wanted him to lose weight. Because of our work schedules and my physical abilities, adding extra walks wasn't an option so we had to do it with food. He was getting 1/3 cup Fromm's twice a day. We cut it back to 1/4 cup and in the evening add a handful of green beans, which he loves.

We went to the vet yesterday -- he's at 42 pounds! That's 7 pounds in a year, about 15% of his starting weight -- good job Oberon!!

Good job! Weight loss is never easy, for man nor beast! Much better for joints all around, though.

Fantastic That's a great job. Just stick with it losing weight is very hard. It's taken Teddy 10 months to lose 4.4 lbs.
Just don't give in to those eyes that say is that all I'm still hungry ;)

    Great job!!!!!!

Wow, that is quite an accomplishment! Good for Oberon, but especially for you resisting those starving Sheltie eyes! Oberon will be so much healthier and more comfortable for your efforts. Good work!

Fantastic results! I’m sure Oberon isn’t happy with less food lol but the results speak for themselves! I’ve cut down on both Piper and Finnie’s food and just within the past couple months Piper is down almost a pound and Finnie just over a pound! Those eyes though....I’ve taken to cutting up low carb veggies (broccoli, celery, cauliflower) for their evening snack when I’m working. My worst enemy is my 93 year old mother who abhors a skinny (in her eyes) dog. This allows me to have a compromise with her...they get a healthy snack and she feels better having given in to their pleading eyes:ROFLMAO:!
