Despite his tough act he is a nervous guy. There was dogs barking and people moving :rolleyes2: Of course right at the start he was like "go pound sand, I will be in my crate" So the fact we got some good runs from him was actually good progress. My thinking is now go back to practice and have him get the pattern burned in better (and hopefully start getting the ball from the box) then in a bit try again.

Oh and it was multiple posts as I was planning on stopping and going to bed after each one. It was super hot in the building Sunday and I was exhausted when I got home.

I figured. You were very prompt with your updates! It usually takes me a few days to write it up. Did you video Spitfire at all?

I think so. I set up the camera looking down the lane for both guys but have not looked at it. While Spitfire was running the coaches husband had my camera just hitting auto snap. I have not seen them at full res but there looked to a couple of decent ones. Of course he had even less idea than me on how to operate it so  Number one thing was no zoom. We shall see, I don't think they will compare with the ones Calliesmom got of Sca for a lot of reasons but they are only ones of him over jumps I think.

Well I was curious if you got his little session filmed so you can go over it. You said you were looking for subtle reasons he might have been dropping the ball.

Oh and I left one thing out. Sca the good dog.... Well I was having trouble getting the generator to start Friday night (my fault I need a new engine battery). I needed to start it to microwave some hot dogs for dinner. Well I put the hotdogs out of reach of the belly with teeth aka Sca and was keeping an eye on them. Well that meant I was not watching the hotdog buns. Sca snatched then and ate about 1 inch off the end of every bun before I caught him :uhoh:

Not great but some of Spitfire. The jumps are set up wrong but that would be his tournament jump height.

I watched this the other night. It looked like he was very distracted. Every time you sent him to get the ball, it's like he lost confidence and would wander off course like he wasn't sure. Is he friends with the boxloader? Sometimes that helps.

You'll get there Spitfire! Just quit worrying about your surroundings!

edit- rewatched.. he's definitely worried about whatever is going on to his left.
