I unfortunately had to go through this with 3 of my chihuahuas.....a guest at our house dropped a pack of Trident gum....

A few thousand dollars later, they are good and no long term effects. We caught them in the act and early, and that was key.

About the scariest thing we have ever been through.

Yep, years ago my Smokey got up on our dining room table and ate a whole LARGE pack of Trident. Luckily I caught it within 5 minutes and we used peroxide to get him to bring it all back up.

For a while it seemed that gum companies were moving away from xylitol to sorbitol but I guess with the laxative effects, they started moving back to xylitol. Now I've noticed quite a few brands have xylitol again. I allow nothing in my house that has xylitol in it. I won't take that chance.
