When Luna came into rescue she was severely matted. Not a professional groomer (rank amateur at best), I spent hours combing, brushing & cutting mats and finally bathing and re-brushing. By the time I finished she was literally half the dog she had been. Luna's coat is long and fine but wavy, particularly around her neck, chest & ears. Give or take 4 months later, her new fur-ever mom says she's still having trouble with getting Luna's coat to not to wave. Any suggestions? Luna is a purebred (albeit, perhaps not well bred), estimated to be 6ish, sable & white. She lives in the mountains now, so humidity probably not an issue. Luna had been fed a reasonably good quality food.

Some Shelties have a bit of a wave -- it's no big deal. Ears and neck are common places for wave.
