He might. It depends on his genetics. Shelties can grow still at 18-24 months. My parent's giant male grew til he was 20 months old. My boy is almost 11 months old and still growing at 18 1/2 inches and 30 pounds.

Both mine hit their final height at around 12mths, although after 9mths the rate of growth slowed dramatically. Deska actually dropped a little in height as he got older.

Ember never grew a fraction of an inch after 6 months, Diva 8 months, Justice 9 months. Birch 9 months however his borther Spruce was still growing when he was placed with Irene at 15 months. He was odd.

All of my dogs dropped in height after they topped out. Justice almost 1", Birch 1/2" Diva 1/2" and Ember 1/4"

In my experience with the line of dogs we have, most stop around 9-10 months and almost all drop.

My Hanna is just over 25 weeks ( as of Monday) and weighs 11.4 pounds and stands about 12" tall as of this morning ( she's pretty lean) . According to the chart here she's on track to be a smaller sheltie. I've been tracking here here for a couple of months and she is staying pretty consistently just under height and in the lower range for weight. I expect that she'll be in size as does her breeder. She is however, going to be smaller than either of her parents who are both in size but on the higher end of the spectrum.

It really does not matter to me where she ends up so long as she is a healthy weight.

Hanna is smaller than Ember was at the same age. Ember was 12 3/4" and about 11.5lbs. Ember is 13" and 14lbs as an adult. Both of Embers' parents were 16" GO figure.

My experience is about 10-12 months for height, but they will bulk up over the next few years till they reach their mature weight. Same with coat growth.....expect up to 2 to 2.5 years for the full coat to grow in.

And then you need to watch weight. Shelties are prone to getting overweight fast! So diet and exercise are key!

I suppose that means I can expect her to end up somewhere near the 15 pound mark. I'm feeding her 2/3 cup of Blue wilderness puppy kibble per day ( up from 1/2) plus greenies and liver treats. She has a noticable waist but you can't see her ribs - she looks like a good weight to me. I'm probably a little off on the height as I'm just standing her against the wall and using the flat side of a ruler to make a mark.

One of my lines can and often does grow until 24 months old for the males, 12-18 months for the females.
