    Update on the poop saga!
The boys did great for a few days and now today Larry had super soft poops and ended up with a dirty bum. I have fortiflora so I added that to their breakfast to see if it will help. It seemed to help little Bryan. Larry hasn't pooped again yet so we'll see. Tomorrow they go to the groomer. Hopefully they're both better soon. I can't believe how this adjustment period is going. One thing is that the volume of poop isn't massive or mucousy, so it's not like the food is shooting through them. It's just really soft.

Pumpkin powder arrived. I'll start that on Sunday if necessary.

The pumpkin should really help. Some Shelties really do have sensitive digestive systems. Sorry they have ongoing soft poop issues, hopefully it will settle down.

Thanks Sharon! I have to share what happened today. As I mentioned, Larry had the poops. It was in the house. So I got them ready to rush outside and little Bryan runs behind Larry and Larry backs up and some how Bryan got Larry's wet poop all over his face and the side of his face. He looked so pathetic like "aw geez, mom....halp!" So I had to take them out side to clean Larry's bottom and Bryan's face, and they did their potty, then we came in and Bryan had to have a bath right away. I'm sure he was thinking "first I get poop on my face and then I have to have a bath, what next!" I'll tell you what next, while I had him all bathed it was time for a bum trimming. Oh the humanity! LOL

It's 10:30pm and they're in their pen. Fingers crossed for a good morning!

I had ongoing problems like that with Checkers until just over a year ago. She would have intermittent spells of really loose poop. It went on for months and we couldn't find a cause. I put her on Purina FortaFlora pills once a day and one teaspoon of pumpkin every day and it hasn't happened since I started that. I also took her off kibble completely and feed her FreshPet now but if you do want to continue kibble there are several good ones for gastro issues, or you might consider trying freeze dried...not freeze dried raw, but a good cooked food. I give my other five Grandma Lucy's Artisian freeze dried every night for dinner and they do well on that and love it.

Poor Bryan! He's suffering more from the runs than Larry is! :bag:

What a day you had...poor Bryan, getting the bum’s rush from his brother Larry! (Pun intended lol)
Fingers crossed that today was better!

Well, another update on the great poop saga! (*this is like the worst reality show ever, isn't it? LOL)

The Fortiflora did the trick. They started it yesterday, and this morning and afternoon they each had normal poops.
Tune in next week for how the world turns! LOL

I haven't been able to bring myself to read this because we've been battling this with Colonel Underpants. It's the cancer, of course, so we have him on a half a metronidazole three times a day. It's helped quite a bit, but the only reason we can dose like that is his palliative care status.

If Sandstorm was here he'd definitely have an encouraging message for his beloved Colonel!
