Willow gets her first look at a soccer ball.

    And she conquers.

Willow seems pretty good at conquering her fears when confronted with new things or new situations. It's fun to see her work her way through her fears. With a new sound from an appliance, she will run from the kitchen only to return to check it out a few seconds later. If it doesn't hurt her, and I haven't run away, she habituates quickly.

So sweet. As far as your appliances go - thank your lucky, lucky stars. My dear Ally taught all subsequent dogs to bark at and attack, coffee grinder, vacuum, blender.... lawn mower etc. I have to put them inside to mow, outside to vacuum, and my hubby has resorted to grinding his coffee in the garage!!!! :rolleyes2:

Willow getting used to the coffee grinder was a two-person team effort. My wife held her and I fed her bits of kibble while grinding. Willow's food drive seems to be higher than her fear response, at least so far.

Oberon is convinced that anything with any sort of motor -- be it a lawn mower, a vacuum, a battery-operated things, anything that makes noise (think ice maker) is absolutely the most evil thing(s) in the world and must be barked at (before running away from said evilness).

You are lucky! Shelby thinks anything that makes noise needs to be barked at and/or herded. Vacuuming takes forever and she can not be outside when anyone is cutting grass or snow blowing the snow.
