As grateful as I am for central air conditioning, I still like to get out for our long walks. In order to manage the heat we go for our walk to the dog park early in the morning and I bring cold water along for Willow. They have a tap at the park that Willow likes to drink from and where we replenish her bottle.

She's full of energy on the walk there and ready to play with her friends when she arrives. Lately, I've been pouring water on her when we get to the park and that gives her extra playtime by keeping her cooler. As soon as she finishes running with her friends and settles down in the grass under the big shady trees we get ready to head home as I know then she's had enough.

This morning a new playmate showed up, a big black Newf puppy. Willow doesn't care what size her playmates are. She loves to be chased and delights in leading them a merry hunt all through the park.

    Catch me if you can!

On the walk home, Willow will lie down in every shady patch. I allow some of the breaks but not all. If she doesn't want to move on, she'll roll onto her back. She's a complete con artist, worse than the fake injuries you see in soccer where players fall down with the least touch from an opponent. Now, I know it's fake because if I reach in my treat pocket she undergoes a miraculous recovery and comes straight over with a wagging tail and bright eyes. She also leaps onto every bench without prompting to get a piece of kibble. It takes us a bit longer to get home with all the breaks but I find them funny and Willow enjoys pulling the wool over my eyes.

Once we get home it's normally time for her favorite activity of the day, watering the garden. Here you can see my "exhausted" dog and the watering wand.

Now she's lying down inside with the important job of the day done.

That lass has the best sheltie life ever!
The only thing she lacks is a sheep! Oh, that's right ... you are that! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Gotta love that big lug of a Nuffie puppy... no way was he going to catch that nimble Willow!;)

Those videos of the dogs chasing her is just too funny! She is SO much faster than them but not even trying! And she knows it too - she's smiling as she's whopping them! :)

Garden looks great! We are picking large numbers of beans and the heat has us bathing in peppers! Squashes are coming in and we've enjoyed a few and I really need to do a batch of pickles. Tomatoes are not liking the heat but we're still getting a few, many are hanging out waiting for some cooler temps!

Wonderful time at the dog park, what a lovely Newfie pup. As long as the play style is right it doesn't matter the size. Love her playing with the hose water. She really does have such an ideal life. Your garden looks great too.

I just love seeing Willow lead all the other dogs on a merry chase around the dog park! She's In Charge, for sure. Good times! And then a shower in the garden before a nap, with her people to wait on her. No wonder she's a happy girl!

You noticed! Yes, we call it Pride Rock. If I yell Willow, Pride Rock, she runs to it and hops up. Impresses the heck out of those who haven't seen it before. That young lady will do anything for kibble.

Loved the videos Glenn! That Willow is such a happy girl! Her antics with the sprinkler remind me of Finnie, I can't turn the sprinkler on without him (and Piper) getting over the top excited (my fault of course lol). He loves to stick his head in the sprinkler and bite the water...silly dogs lol.
