My pups were having a blast last night about midnight running around in the ¼ inch of snow we got, slipping and sliding on the deck, chasing each other and coming in soaking wet-- I had to call them in cause I was afraid someone was going to break a bone slipping on the deck. Once I heard a thump and looked out of the sliding glass doors to see one of the dogs sliding sideways across the deck with the other one right on his tail.. Now I need to get the slush off before it freezes and get the snow shovels out of the garage before we meet Jack Frost again. Tis that season.. I am sure my 1 yr olds have seen snow before but it was as young pups and they seemed fascinated by it last night--we will see what they think when there is a lot of it to play in..the world is just full of sheltie toys, which is the way it should be of course.

We (husband - that's 'we') snowblow the path around the back of the house to the deck stairs and then around the other side of the house. We have to clear out a path to our outdoor island and that area since we grill and smoke all year long. We clear the back stone patio since we have fires and sit out under the covered pergola there. We have to manually clear or stomp a path to the chicken coop. And then of course the pups..... when snow is deep, hubby snowblows an area on the back and side of the house. With two now, a lot of times, they are stomping it down on their own and we are off the hook.

When the kids were younger, hubby used to snowblow a 'luge' run from one side of our yard, pack snow down on the driveway where the run was, create a hill and block the path so it wouldn't head towards a tree that is there, and then pack down the path all the way to the other side of our property. We have a large expanse of lawn on a hill - we'd fly! One year he watered it so it iced up - mad fun!

Last year, it was hubby, Brodie and I that ran the hill, we skipped the stuff across the front yard and started at the drive. I guess you don't grow up until your mind catches up with the aches of your joints! :)

This made me laugh because I have a hard time getting Blueberry in the house because she loves the snow so much! Yesterday morning I figured out a way to get her in the house and it works every time (so far)!
She hates my ringtone and runs to it whenever it rings (Star Wars Death Star March) so I play the ringtone and hold my phone outside the door and she comes running every time…I die from laughter:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:!

Just had a Sheltie playdate at my friend's home, she lives up in the foothills so she gets tree squirrels and the dogs were on it! Squirrel was way, way up and knew it was safe.
