I have been feeing Zak frozen Primal or Bravo raw for close to a year now and have noticed his coat is not as think or as long as before. He gets raw at night and a 1/3 cup Acana or Fromm in the morning. He also gets a few treats from a dog bakery that I work at so I know how good they are, along with fruit and veggies.
I have been pondering going back to kibble and adding chicken, lamb, turkey and fresh veggies and see if it makes a differenc, when he was eating that his coat was better. I know it will take some time. He has also been shedding more. Other wise his weight is the same and he acts the same. He is bored with out Maggie but hopefully soon that will change.

Interesting, I can't really say why that would be.
I wish Spruce had less coat since I got him I switched him over cold turkey so to speak, lo, but alas coat didn't get thinner, hahaha... I never had a dog with that much undercoat, it's an interesting challenge lol

I never fed that prepared raw, are you sure there is enough fish oil in there, I find that makes a difference in glossy coat, not sure if it would affect the length of it tho.

Well, Kibbles'N'Bits makes great hair...

I wouldn't worry about it too much.

weirdo, then I am all outta ideas, too lol
I definitely wouldn't take him off raw, if it's just the thickness of coat but everything else is good n glossy... but I am curious :D

I've always gotten compliments on my dogs' coats. Many years ago, on the advice of a veterinarian, I started giving them a half-teaspoon of bacon fat daily.
