Looks like he is becoming a sheltie under guidance of Laddie. I know it is not possible always but Shelties need another Sheltie around and tho they attach to use they really do enjoy talking with someone who understands their language and smells what they smell, hears what they hear and knows exactly why they have to bark at so many things. We will never understand.... be careful of the chewing one of our current pack chewed a live wire and got an unpleasant surprise- she does not chew wires now thankfully. but pieces of wood watch out...

They are both very handsome boys.
Get well wishes to your wife!
I'm not the expert on ears, (so this is a just is case), I think you could have another ear setback coming up if I remember correctly. Something about teeth? The others with multitudes of shelties probably know right off the top of their heads...I think Fillion had one last ear issue when he was a tad older.

Usually ears go wonky while they are teething, yes.

I hope your wife is doing well and recovering! I bet the pups are good at nursing her.

Laddie sounds like the very best big brother to Fergy. It's great that they are bonding. I agree that Shelties are better in multiples...but then I've never had less than three.

His ears may stay down for you, usually you're safe once they're done teething, between 9 and 12 months of age. If they start to creep back up, get a bottle of pure glycerine from the pharmacy or Amazon and put a dab on the tip of the inside of each ear every other day or so. That gives it a bit of extra weight without the fuss of taping or gluing.

Thank you, Denise is doing well although she is somewhat miserable this week.(Has been a week since her nasal surgery) Still has some packing and they will clear all the sinuses in two weeks.
FERGY is evolving into a clone of his big brother I am afraid. Lol He is constantly aware of where Laddie is at all times. When we let them into their yard from Bedroom/Back porch, we leave the door unlatched. Laddie has opened the door when he wants to return since maybe two years old, FERGY does it now and he is just four months plus a week. He is long legged and gaining muscle and form. Hair is coming in rather quickly, looks as though it may be somewhat curly. Transplanted some flowers the other day in their yard, FERGY had been chewing some of them and they both were digging in the flower beds. Laddie knows better. I really chastised FERGY, verbally, and he hasn't bothered them since. We have two blankets in his bed area. He decided to remodel same yesterday by taking the small blanket and placing it beside a chair he likes to sleep under. He had the large blanket halfway out. Guess he decided to return to work on it later. He is becoming more loving although as I have said before that is intended mostly for my wife. We are surprised every day with his intelligence. We have had some dogs that were really smart, we think this one is the sharpest and the most inquisitive. Have had to place a gate at bottom of our stairway to second floor. All the rooms there have computers and one room is my Leather work and sewing room and of course our library with books on low shelves.
Never a dull day or moment and it is definitely making for some tiring times for this old couple with a new puppy.

Fergy's legs are really stretching! Yep all Shelties are smart but some get extra in that department - Meadow is one of those....:uhoh:
