One thing I forgot to put in either of the trip reports is that Willow almost caused a traffic accident on one of our evening perambulations.

We were approaching a corner, one street had stop signs, one did not. A car, across the road, was stopped at the stop sign and signaling to turn left. The driver was clearly enamored with Willow and was staring at her instead of checking for traffic. He pulled out in front of a truck that had the right of way and no stop sign. Yikes! As all this was happening at the other side of the intersection we and Willow were in no danger. The truck driver leaned on his horn and who could blame him.

Willow remained unfazed by the whole thing and just sashayed along without a backward glance.

Oh Willow! I had someone in the grocery store parking lot today scream at me- YOU HAVE SHELTIES! I had to get out of the car and show her, lol. This woman has had shelties and wants another one, so I directed her to some info and wished her luck.

Looks that will stop traffic, LOL. That is funny only because nothing serious happened! We've had many folks slow and/or stop their cars to see our crew too, especially when you have 3..... Shelties just seem to have that effect on people.

Tonight we go with our dog club to a retirement home, we do an annual agility demo at this place, and before and after, take our dogs around to visit people, some in wheelchairs/walkers. All our dogs have really stepped up on the occasion to let strangers pet them - they just seem to understand it's a special situation. I'm always really proud of them.

    LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this!!!!

My mom had alzheimers. When she was early along in her path she was still living with dad but he needed a break so she joined an Alzheimer's Day Care group and went in the mornings. Preschoolers and puppies, at separate times, were brought in to visit with the group 'guests' and it was such a special time for them! What I saw there, it's why I want to eventually get Brodie therapy certified when he is a bit older. Thanks for sharing your dogs - what an amazing gift to those people at that home!
