If you have the time, I recommend reading the thread by Tagg 'Tinsel's Journey'. It is very helpful to owners with fearful dogs. I will warn you, it's long (41 pages as of right now). I think it may be the longest thread on SN! But within the first 15 pages you'll get LOTS of good advise.
