2on2off with stride regulators

hi everybody,

today we prepared our a-frame for the first time with stride regulators.
in my opinion the result is pretty good!

face and rocky both have very good contacts, but in addition with the stride regulators their strides are just great!

the next few days we'll also start with our new hope peewee (nearly 13 month old) with the contact training on the a-frame.
the difference: she'll learn running contacts in combination with the stride regulators (never tried this before but I'm really looking forward to the training sessions!)

With the stride regulators, it is all about muscle memory. I pair it with a treat n train so I can reward independence and moving forward straight through the yellow regardless of what I am doing. Barb Davis' running contact DVD is a lot of help, both for aframe and dogwalk with stride regulators.
I've sucessfully trained 12 and 16" dogs using this method on both the aframe and dogwalk. I also tend to combine it with Silvia Trkman's method to reward correct striding.
Does Rocky trial as well? I don't think I've seen video of him before.
I will be interested in seeing updates in progress with your young dog using this method. Some people are able to achieve great results using it, others are not. I think some of it also has to do with availability of contact equipment. Those like you or I who have the equipment at home seem to have better luck.

thank you for your comment!
the name barb davis I read for several times now in combination with stride regulators and running contacts.

over here it's unluckily not very comman to train RC at all.
silvia trkmans methode is the only one which is really represented in europe, I think.
just a few (also here in Germany) just somethink like stride regulators (also just a-frame).

here you can see peewee's first time ever doing the a-frame:

I'm looking for perfekt stride over the apex. she showed it on both sides the last time on video.

and rocky is also trialing in highest class!
normally with my mom. (he and peewee are her dogs)
here you can see one run of him and me last winter. he then was nearly 7 years old and placed 2 after silas boogk (30 competitors).
