We went an hour and half north to Dawsonville for three hours of herding fun! Both dogs took two turns in the pen, chased and played with friends too.
Herding was Bobby's thing today, wow! We must enroll in some lessons, he really had fun! Justus did great too, did not stop to eat sheep poo today! Yay!
After lunch we headed back toward home. Justus was entered in Rally Novice B this afternoon.
Good luck was on my side, I got to the trial just as Excellent B was starting. Enough time to give the dogs a potty break, change my shoes and shirt and then it was time for the RNB walk thru. Fairly easy and straight forward course, two of the new signs were on it, but I knew how to do them.
Justus didn't start out so smooth, we got a tight leash mark on the opening sequence, a right turn, then into a figure 8. I lost count and hoped I had crossed the center line 3 times and set up for the next station. From then forward, I had a wonderful dog with me! He was quick to respond and tired enough to leave his leash alone.
(sometimes he wants to liven things up and tug)
He barked once on the Down Stop station, but it was a beautiful moving down. That cost us a point.
First leg, 2nd place with a 98.
So sorry that my friends weren't there to tape it, it sure felt like a nice run! Maybe it is better to not see it and just enjoy how nice it felt.
