Canine politics?
Leave it to the savvy Sheltie Forum members to come up with a "gray area" in the forum rules. Of course I hoped I had everything covered. LOL...
Very good questions by all. I can see both sides of the issue, where the spirit of the forum is to share information...for the betterment of all dogs. But as Ann pointed out, issues like this can be divisive and create all sorts of bad feelings, (no matter what you think about Milan).
So, I think this should fall under the same umbrella of online contests. A link posted to promote a cause a member feels strongly about isn't necessarily in the best interest of the forum. (Unless it is specifically related to Sheltie rescue.) If anyone has a question if a topic or link is appropriate, please feel free to email me in advance.
If someone starts a thread about Milan then feel free to fire away with your own feelings on the issue, I just think that links to promote a cause should only be posted via private messages.
Private messages can contain links to issues you believe in...and you are more than welcome to email your friends with such information. Please, just don't spam the members...that is a quick way to get banned!
I hope everyone will be OK with this...and thanks to GeeRome for being sensitive to the viewpoints of other members.
