I agree...some training apart before trying to walk them together...
With mine...Clancy is a brat and hated Abby for a long time...so we really had to work on that...now they walk together on double leash thing just fine.
A little of "if you don't behave, you get left at home" worked wonders!! LOL
Clancy would scream like a girl if I took Abby without him...and if I brought him and he started being a brat...back home he went and I left again with Abby. Believe me, Clancy straightened right up..
We also did alot of practiceing "lay down and wait" while I worked a few minutes with the other dog...not long, just a few minutes at a time to start. Now I can get the treats and call one of the dogs and tell the other one to wait....work with that dog and then switch. They learn real fast that they will get their turn...takes a bit of time..and if Clancy thinks he is waiting too long for his turn he gets whiney..LOL
