Abby - loose stools with mucus

Since Abby possibly ate some mouse poison I have also noticed she ate some cat poop buried in the mulch in our yard. (she needs a really short leash, real short) It all started with her diarrhea which led me to what she got into. The mouse poison was my first thought as i found some that the mice had brought to the generator in the garage. Abby was sniffing around the generator and i thought she found a mouse but as i looked close their was some mice poison on the floor. I also found her digging up some mulch the next day and when i looked there there was cat poop. So the vet knows about the poison but not the cat poop yet. I did not think anything of it as she started eating boiled chicken and rice and was also given metronidazole starting on the 11th. Within 2 days her stools were normal. I continued the chicken/rice for 2 more days then went back to raw on Wednesday. We used the last of the metronidazole on Thursday and Saturday afternoon her stools became loose again, and this morning all loose with lots and lots of mucus. So Monday morning I will call the vet and see what the next step will be. She obviously has something going on just when i thought we were out of the woods. Oh, she is also on vitamin k1 and does get some yogurt in the evening. I will boil chicken and rice today for her dinner.

I'm sorry Abby isn't feeling well.

Maybe there were parasites in the cat's poop and she just needs to be dewormed?
When all 3 of my dogs had a stomach virus, they all get better in a few days except for Bailey. I couldn't figure out why. I dewormed her and she back to normal in 3 days.

I thought Bailey had loose stools for more than a few days? Abby's poops did get better but now are not and I hate all that mucus.

Bailey was better when she was on metronidozle, but once she finished the meds, her loose stool came back. It was on and off for weeks. Despite her negative stool sample, I decided to deworm her with panacur. She was all better after that.
