Abby weighs 28lbs. The contents is for a dog weighing between 24-50lbs. Should I give the whole thing? That's almost twice as much as she would need. Seems like an overdose if you ask me.
Advantix - the whole contents for 28lbs?

I would actually give her the lower dose vial, especially if you're using Advantix which is pretty strong. I dose my guys with the teal (to 20 lb) size no matter what their weight is. If you're using the dose for 24-50 I wouldn't use the whole vial.

Yeah - It just does not seem right. I did question the smaller vial but given Abbys tick diseases her vet suggested not the smaller one.

I would use half the amount. Then, if by any chance you see an alive tick on her, raise the dosage as you will know that it isn't working. I saw a tick yesterday here in Jersey! They are coming back and 'tis the season.

One thing I forgot to mention that my vet told me about using Advantix is not to put it all in one spot behind her neck, but rather to split it between about three spots...behind the shoulders, middle of the back and at the base of the tail. That does seem to make it more effective, I found.

Yes, Abby had a tick on Wdenesday!! 2 days after we started seeing grass in some spots!!. It's looking like a bad spring for ticks already.
