Hi hi everydog!

CJ here with some news about my agility trainin' an' a lil bragging too.

Dad started me in agility classes last week an' Mom's teachin' the class. Yes! Automatic Teachers-pet right here! Literally. :) Anyway, the whole first day was, "Do this thing...but you'll never see this thing on an agility course." "Do that thing...but you'll never see this thing on an agility course." Now Imma smart lil sheltie, an' the only reason I did the 'things you won't see on an agility course' is because Dad had ample supplies of nummy treats for me if I humored them.

Finally we got to the tunnel. As Mom is explaining, I'm kinda daydreaming cuz it's always the same story. "Teach your dog to go through the tunnnel cuz this is one thing you will see on an agility course." *double take* Say what? Did she just say this one will be on an agility course? Cool! Okay I'm interested now. Ooooo...tunnel looks scary dark inside...I'm not so sure...wait! Dad's on the other side. It can't be too bad. Maybe if I go through real quick. Yes, treats! Say...tunnels are kinda fun. :D *wag, wag, wags*

So anyway...that was my first day of agility skool. During the week we worked on ladder and plank and tunnel and learned target. On Sunday Mom and Dad took Edan and I to the agility skool for a BBQ Luau. One of the games was Limbo and the dogs had to go 'under' the jump bar. *giggles* I was the only non-agility trained dog there so I had the advantage now! *giggles* Edan got to 14" before he jumped the bar instead of going over it, putting him out of the competition. At 10" it came down to me and a Papillon. Well, I got 3/4 of the way under...stopped...then as I scootched forward, my hips lifted the bar and I was out. I got second place, but best of all I beat Edan! :D

Had more agility skool last night. We did more 'things we won't see on an agility course'. I'm not really sure about the moving board thing. It's not my very favorite that's for sure, but I'll suffer it for treats. Once again we finished up the night with the tunnel. Oh, I like the tunnel now...straight and curved. :) But I was really tired so the last time through, I got to the end of the tunnel and just laid down and watched everyone.

Dad took a few pictures to share.

Bye, bye!

Love the pictures. You are too cute CJ. Sounds like you are liking Agility Skool and have made a good start. Good luck.

Yeah, she is cute. :) We were resetting the room for the Handling courses on Tuesday and she decided to just curl up in the tunnel. There was no way we could let that go without a picture to share.

What CJ didn't say is that she is doing very well with everything we've shown her so far. We'll need to work on the buja board (moving board) a bit outside of class to try and get her more comfortable with a moving object thought. An a bit more 'target' work since she's just starting to get it.

Bailey here...

CJ, you look dashing in that tunnel. :biggrin2:

I start ajiliti classes today! I am so nervous because I didn't take the introduction classes :( but mom and the trainer think I'm very smart and won't will catch up fast.

I loveeee the tunnel! We have one at home. I love to jump on top of it. It's really fun when you tumble off. I also love to stand inside it and bite the walls. I especially love to pull it around the kitchen, but my all time favorite was when I tried to pull mom's laundry basket inside. Mom, says these are very bad habits and I shouldn't do this...but it's so much fun and isn't that what ajiliti is all about??? Silly huemans.

*giggles* Thank you Bailey! You'll do fine. I suspect you'll only be missing the 'things that you'll never see on an agility course' anyway so I think you're lucky in that regard. :)

Whoa! Really? You can jump on top of the tunnel? Is that part of ajiliti too?

Humans clearly don't understand fun like we do? I guess that's why we gotta keep 'em on a leash so we can take them places to go and have fun. :D

Best of luck today Bailey! *noses*

Hi CJ,

Glad you beat Edan in limbo. As a younger sister to an older brother, it's always fun to beat them. Keep up the good work and don't worry about the moving board so much. If Koji can get it, you can too! Koji was a big scaredy cat (Koji here, I was not!). He was, don't let him fool you.

You look very cute in your new den. And btw, I love your ears. They're so pretty (Koji's don't tip even though I tried).

Soon enough, you'll be out there on the agility course!!! Can't wait to see you in action. Tell your parents to get some video one day. We here on the forums love Sheltie TV.
