AKC 4-day trial

Great job Cheryl with Kojii!!!What I don't understand though in one breath you say no more Standard and in the next one you say you may do an ASCA trial. The show and go'sI think is great but to trial and test the DW is crazy.

Sheri is correct. It's because I can train in the ring AND because the show-n-go's are very few and far between. We're talking maybe 2-4 a year. I do think the environment would be "trial-like" enough, and I wish there were more cuz I'd much rather pay $5-7 run versus $10-12.

Yay, here's my 4th place run: http://youtu.be/rzPgA_fk9NA

I was supposed to FC before jump 4. I didn't think I was going to make it so I RC. I was also supposed to FC at the jump before the end, after the weaves. I kinda got lost, but not.

I just noticed I'm waiting for him again. That or I'm REALLY slow at taking off once I stop/slow down. lol.

That weave entry is what we typically have issues with. He nailed them. ANd I got in a FC after them. OMG. I was so proud of him (and me)!

Nice run!

Apparently I have to say more because I'm not allowed to post something with less than 10 characters(kinda silly), so here it is! LOL!

Akc

Sharon, I believe the reason she's going to ASCA with Koji is because ASCA allows training in the ring so she can train the DW behavior in a trial environment. Sure, she'll DQ but I can understand what she's doing. I'm not sure how well a show-n-go mimics a trial environment since people attending show-n-gos know it's not a trial.

I've had trainers suggest it to me also when I was having trouble with Edan's A-Frame contact. Thankfully the introduction of rubberized contacts corrected the problems we were having with Edan's A-Frame. (Basically he understood what he needed to do but couldn't control his decent on the older sanded a-frame.)

Dogs do not know the difference bewteen a trial and a show and go .

I love that course! Looks like so much fun! I would love to see your video of that one.

Since no one was there to videotape it, I decided not to purchase it.

And I'm glad to hear that the mat work is making a difference. I really had a tough time this weekend because Bentley was running before Lexi in a lot of runs and that tends to put her over the top excitement-wise.

Oh that sucks. Are you going to have to hide now? lol. Move them apart? Cover her eyes? Ugh! I see people dealing with that all the time. Maybe I'm glad to have only one agility dog.

So happy that you're meshing as a team (even if it's only in JWW!) How many runs did you have over the past 4 days? Enjoy your day off!

Thanks. We had good Standard runs overall, minus the DW, so I'm happy about that too. Something as simple as a mat seems to be working. We had 2 runs a day, so 8. They offered FAST and T2B in the mornings (so that would have been one extra class a day), but I'm not really interested in paying $15 for a warm-up, lol. Since I can't really train in there either.

Koji is out again. Man that boy can sleep! What a great weekend.
