AKC Junior Agility Invitationals

So last Friday we went to Florida and my daughter Jordan competed with Maverick and Trax. I think overall she did wonderfully. She was so nervous that she chewed up her fingers til they were almost bleeding. Maverick was ramped up and just wouldn't finish his weave poles. Trax was amazing if I do say so myself, but Jordan made a few rookie mistakes handling him. She did an amazing job with front crosses and keeping up with him though! And he listens to her on his contacts better than he does with me! :biggrin2: So anyhow, here's the videos!

Junior Superior Standard
Junior Superior Jumpers
Junior Excellent Standard
Junior Excellent Jumpers
Time 2 Beat Maverick
Time 2 Beat Trax

My favorite is the ending in Time 2 Beat with Trax. She just handled it beautifully and way better than I think I would've.

In the end, Maverick was eliminated both times so he had a score of 0. Trax had a 85 in the first run and a 90 in the second run for a total of 175 and was in 10th place overall for 16" Junior Excellent. As she gets better with her handling, I guarantee we're gonna see Jordan and Maverick move up quickly and by next year's Invitationals she's going to be unstoppable! :wink2:

I think she looked great with both dogs! A few minor things need ironed out, and she is going to be awesome! And Maverick is just a baby dog and needs more time under his belt, that's all.

You should be so proud. (And you're right, the end of that T2B run was perfect!)

Thanks! It's hard when I couldn't go walk the course with her and position her for certain lines. At any normal show I walk the course with her, so her thought process is a naive still when she's on her own.

I am super proud :biggrin2:

I wondered who had the sheltie! I am long friends with Brianne Farr, in fact I was there the day of her birth. :) Very proud of the Juniors in obedience and agilty and applaud the AKC for including them!

Great job! I give Jordan a lot of credit for even attempting it.

Friends of ours were there with their Sheltie. Did you happen to see the 3rd cumulative place winner that was a Sheltie?

There's entirely too much going on to really get to see everything else. I had enough on my hands just trying to keep Jordan's fingernails from bleeding. She was a nervous wreck. Then add to it, working with the dogs and keeping my family entertained...no I wasn't watching the other runs :biggrin2:

Not to mention, Jordan was picked by a Eukanuba rep to do a video where she guides a human through an agility course as if she were a dog, so we were busy with filming after jordan's runs were through.

that must have been cool for Jordan- we'll be waiting for that video too:yes:
