Olive, DH and I went to Mount Vernon today for their second to last tour of All the President's Pups (a basic behind the scenes tour about dogs on the property while Washington was there- Chris and any other locals, if you were looking at it then I would buy tickets ahead of time, it's been sold out every week.) She was a terrific representative of the breed, even if some people kept calling her a baby German Shepherd. There were even two other shelties on the tour! The tour had a group from a local Samoyed breed group, a Greyhound, two Great Danes, and a variety of other breeds. Of course Olive wanted to be up front but no one thought she could keep up- like two miles could slow her down.
It would have been nice if it were a little cooler but she is a good little bottle drinker (she preferred to drink from the mouth of the water bottle than demean herself to drink from the bowl like a common dog
)

Olive at the West Gate- if you look in the background, you can see the mansion. Visitors aren't allowed inside the west gate without being a tour. Mount Vernon has two resident dogs that they adopted to protect the orchards so we got to see where they live during the day.

Is it an annual event?
