Annoying Problem with 'New Posts'

Oh wow....this doesn't happen for me, then. I just get this when I don't click on a page, or someone makes a comment to the thread at the same time as I do, so I did not read the new comment.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean, I've done what you've mentioned before too. This is different.

I'm glad to know its just not me or I'd feel like I was losing my mind! lol
 
I'm curious what Web Browser and version folks are using. There could be a correlation between the browser version and the issue. It wouldn't be the first time a particular version of a web browser caused issues with software.

If you aren't sure, go to your "Help" menu and select "About".

I use Firefox version 3.6.10 and don't see this problem.
 
Just my two cents, but I never had this happen to me in Connecticut but I have been having these same things show up here, and I haven't changed browsers, but I have changed IP's.

I use Foxfire, don't know the version though but will check if you need it.
 
This happens to me at both home and at work, which are in different cities and have different IP's.

I'm using Firefox V3.6.9. at work. Not sure if that's what I have at home too or not, will have to check.
 
My issue is related. Sometimes when I've been off for a few days and I don't have a hope of catching up, I'll "mark all threads read". That works immediately, but then when I refresh again a whole bunch of older messages show up under a caption "the threads below have not been updated since your last visit but still contain unread posts". I'd already marlked them read, so I don't know why they keep coming back.

Not a major issue, but I just don't have the time to scroll through 6-10 pages of posts anymore.

I might have to change my search habits again.
