Another Title for Jinx :)

I don't know what I was thinking! Local UKC club held their Obedience Trial this past weekend (yes the weekend after Jinx earned his CDX) so I figured I would help out the entry (there were only 5 in the whole show that preentered).

I entered Jinx in UKC Novice. Whew! IT was a lot for an unseasoned dog to do right after having done his CDX the weekend before. Two trials in one day! Then we entered only once on Sunday (because I had to get back home to teach classes - a 2 hour drive away).

But the good news is, He passed!

I tell ya, I have never racked up the titles in so few months before lol

UCD Royalty's Jinx'd Ya RN CDX

And we're not done yet lol I'll probably enter September or October shows for his RA & RE. So far, thats 4 titles this year! Moxie (the GSD) has 3 titles so far and will be doing her RE this September/October.

Sheesh! What more can we enter :eek2:
Oh yeah... Gateway UKC is holding a HUGE show in October... Agility ;)

Yeah Jinx. Way to go.

UKC is my favorite obedience venue, especially their utility. I started in it because it was the only resgisteration at the time to allow mix breeds to compete. My JRT mix got her UCD.

I also love the 2 trials in 1 day. It does get a bit tiring for the dog if they aren't use to it. Ember would get tired by the afternoon. But Justice(he is an UKC grand Obedience Champion) loved it. Especially went he was doing Open and Utility both twice in one day. He usually took HIT, HC or both in the afternoon trial after he had a warm run:smile2:.

Tell me was Jinx used to doing recalls over a jump. Some dogs get quite confused by that.

Good luck in your upcoming trials.:smile2:

I think once Jinx gets more seasoned he'll love it. But this show was almost too much. He didn't do his prancing during heeling, he had a couple of no sits during heeling and I could tell he was stressed. We'll prepare more next time and other than Rally, I don't think I'll be trialing him anymore this year lol

He did the recall over the high just fine, especially since I practiced it only once before the show lol! So, no, he wasn't used to it but handled it like a champ :wink2:

Finally refreshed myself on the around the clock method of scent discrimination and we'll be starting articles on Monday! :biggrin2:

Congrats!

It's great to read that you and Jinx have accomplished so much.

I have yet to venture into UKC but hear it's a lot of fun so I'm considering it.

Again, congrats!!
