At nearly 15 inches and 23 pounds, Asher is becoming a big boy! He's nearing the conclusion of his basic obedience class, and he's progressing beautifully. He's great on everything except Stay. That continues to wait on his developing impulse control. At seven months, he's finally completely housebroken. It took him a while longer than I expected, but we didn't pressure him, and at just over six months, he got it. I'm going to go through the basic obedience class again, just because he was so young when he started his formal training that getting the basics solid is more important than putting him in a situation where he might struggle.
His service dog training is also progressing well. He's figuring out what he needs to do for me, and his public behavior while wearing his coat is really impressive. He goes to appointments with me, to church and shopping. He's still a bit reactive to wheels (grocery carts), but that's improving). We're flying to the Sheltie National in April; he'll still officially be in training until he's a year, but he'll be ready. I'm so excited!
