Bacca's Liver Tests...not good....

So after months of mixing Merricks wet food with his Now! diet with limited success, my son stumbled on the solution.

Turns out that Bacca didn't like the Merricks at all....though he did originally!

Now he is on straight kibble. Where before he was ambivalent about his food, now he jumps and howls for his meals! Who'd have thunk that a bowl of basic kibble with nothing else would have him spinning!

I don't think we can ignore our pups. I think Bacca was trying to tell me, by his not-eating, that this was not the diet for him. And maybe the straight kibble will sort out his liver problems.

He is back to bouncing like Tigger at meal times. So good to see that again!

All to say, that now that he is back on track, I'm going to retest him again in a few weeks. I'm not being complacent, but I'm hopeful that maybe things have finally turned around. I really do not want to put him through an MRI and bioposy. (nor spend the money!)

That is wonderful news Barb. Have been wondering how he was doing. Its funny how they react to differant things.

I know Trapp is back to eating really well,as of the last month or so.Not sure what was up with him for such a period of time, but all the pups are back on TOTW,and he is eating again with real enthusiasim.

Good luck to Bacca! Hopefully you got him back on the path to excellent health and happiness (sounds like you already got confirmed happy :biggrin2:)

So glad he is back to eating regularly. Barb Now is a food I have not tried for Chandler is there a specific one you are using? I'd like to try it.

Glad to hear that Bacca is back to eating like his old self. Here's hoping for good news on the next tests.

I've got them both on the Adult/Senior Food - because even at 2.5 years old, they are both 30 lbs and I need to get them both down a few pounds. It's grain free and a reasonable protein level - 24%.

They get fed twice per day - a little less than 2/3 cup each feeding. I've been slowing scaling that back - almost one kibble at a time! But both of them gobble their food now in less than 1 minute....then lick, lick, lick the bowl! Its too funny to watch! Silly pups! It's kibble! There is nothing to lick!

great news Barb, cant wait for the new tests.
Everett would last a year on a bag of kibbles; we modified his volume of treats from mom and dad, and he lost 2.5 lbs to a respectable 19.5 lbs (under 20 is our goal)
