Bad Drugs?

Since I've become a member here I've heard of people saying that some drugs have harmed their shelties to the point were it's almost fatal. I know all vets can't know everything about all dog breeds, but shouldn't there be a list of dogs that shouldn't have each drug? I'd hate to hear just how many dogs have died because a vet didn't know that a breed couldn't have a certain drug.

So what are the drugs shelties can't have and why can't they have them?

hope all the links are still good- put that together a long time ago when I had lots more free time... and only two adult dogs- Happy and Callie.......
 
Super idea....I remember years ago a vet telling me that a certain flea/heartworm med was not for Shelties. I couldn't remember which one it was.
