Bath Day!

Recent discussion on hair loss and it was time anyway, so here are today's bath day photos. Missing hair from both - the handfuls from the sink as well as whatever blew away. They got it all.... shampoo, conditioner, grooming spray, ears, teeth, feet, nails. Pic 8714 really shows off Deacon's blue eye. Pic 8726 shows of Brodie's 'fault' - his backside goes maroon in the sun even when I use black shampoo.

PS - Funny (to me at least)... we have a neighbor who is just obnoxious at times... a speaker almost my size pointed towards our house when they have family over for these drunk pool parties often the women get on blow horns when drunk - real peachy neighbors, won't let us know when setting off fireworks no matter how many times I ask (I don't care about the fire works, I just want to know so I don't have my dogs out). We aren't super close, they have 2 acres, we have 1 so we can avoid them most times. Last bath, I got such enjoyment, such satisfaction... Wind happened to be blowing right their way, and I repeatedly heard the females complaining for the husband to come blow the hair away. I took a very long time to blow the boys out that day, I think he cleared out their pool area 4 - 5 times that afternoon - mean, maybe, but brought a smile to my face... :)

They look fantastic Sandy! And not too much fur!
As for Brodie’s fault…I wonder if his fur gets burnt by the sun? When I had been showing Blueberry the handler told me the brown tips at the end of her grey fur was burnt fur from the sunshine (and she’s not outside for too long). Maybe he’s just more prone to it in that area.
That’s too funny about that neighbour! I’ve blown my dogs outside before and that fur does go EVERYWHERE! Even better when it’s a windy day!🤣
Karma! What goes around comes around!

Yes, it's 'rust' and prone to it in the rear and tail area as well. I use a mix of black shampoos for him, white for the white sections. Sometimes I do a great job on it, sometimes I don't. It doesn't take much to get it started. Deacon's black areas don't rust at all... same family lines (his mom is Brodie's sister) but different dad's within the same lines.

I had read years ago that Chris Christensen's Ice on Ice can help prevent it, protect the fur from sunburn like a sunscreen, but I felt it left a yucky coating on the fur like they feel when they are in need of a bath. Not supposed to leave a build up per the write up on it, but does. I worried about breakage and coat damage if overused but never could get past that feel so quit using.

Oh wow they look great! You need a medal for doing them all haha. Monty is enough for me, there's no way I could handle doing anymore!
Gave me a smile thinking about your neighbors, I'll start mailing you Montys fur to set free into their pool area also ;)
