He jumps on the loveseat and sticks his butt in the air and his head on the cushion, (often under a throw pillow if its there) and waits till I scritch his butt.
Shelties have a way of making you smile-even if you don't feel like it.

Anybody else's sheltie have funny petting demanding behaviors?

Dixie likes to lay on the couch near you but not too close and then she'll make a little sound and start flicking her tail at you because you are not petting her.........
I need to try and get video of that one of these days...............

Yep Angus will only stay if you pet him. Then he will paw your hand a couple of times. If that fails he does the 'pet my butt' look back. When that fails (or butt pets stop) he jumps down.

That’s too cute Denise! Finnie will do something similar with his tail (I often say he’s like a monkey with that tail of his), Piper if you start patting him you can’t stop…he’ll use his head to nudge your hand if you should dare to stop.
I just love all the little quirks our dogs have, each one is so different than the other!
Blueberry is in a class of her own…she’s very happy when I come home but rather that coming to me right away she’ll run circles around me barking and barking at me (I swear she’s giving me heck for leaving her lol) until she finally comes to me and puts her paws on my legs. As I reach for her she’ll leap up into my arms…such a goofy girl!

Five of my six shelties won't even do that much.
But my beloved Koko would sleep like this for hours if my arms could hold out
