Bi-black coat rusting- shampoo recommendations?

Missy's hair around her ears has a reddish tint, I'm guessing from the sun. Are there any shampoo recommendations? I know CC has the black on black, but is there anything else that would work just as good? And if not, where is the best place to purchase CC products online? It's pretty pricey, and I would also have to buy white on white.

O order all my CC products from Cherrybrook. Shipping is very reasonalbe,and great folks to deal with.
I use white on white for Mia,and she just sparkles~ Although not a fan of the fragrance,but it works great.
Health Extension makes a black on black shampoo,actually a whole line of products.Which I found recently from Blakes breeder. Have not ordered it,but she likes the products.
I use IOD products.

I don't have a black dog, but I seem to remember on the forum several months ago it was discussed that the rusty color on a black dog may actually be genetic rather than a product of the sun.

I would use the Black on Black. I know that it's a little pricey, but their products last FOREVER! Bentley is 5 and we are only on our second bottle of the Day to Day shampoo (CC product) that we use.
 
I don't think black on black or white on white are dilutable like the other shampoos. :(

And I thought only the ability to rust was genetic, I'll have to go back and find that thread. I remember that one too.

I guess she just might have that red in her. Her sire was a bi-black, but I don't remember noticing the red around the ears. It's really only around her ears. It just drives me nuts when people point it out!
 
Shelby is also a bi-black. Her mom is a tri and her dad is a blue merle. There are times when I see both her parents colors in her. Sometimes I can see the red from her mom around her shoulders and she definitely has the gray from her dad on her rump. The gray sometimes looks like she just needs a good brushing. But it is really the color of her under coat. Once she blows her coat it is not as noticeable. I just assume it is genetic.
 
I think you just need to use a spray on conditioner that has UV protection.

Indy used to get a little rusty. But I use Ice on Ice and he survived this summer with the red tint to his coat

p.s. I've started to dilute ALL my CC products with water - about half and half. I like the product but found I was getting too much build up.

Sometimes a brush out with just plain water is best
 
The CC Ice on Ice has UV protection in it. It is a spray.

I get my CC products from Cherrybrook.....I am lucky that the store is only 15 minutes from me :cool:
 
My bi black gets it around his ears too - his dad was a tri and his mom was a blue merle. I thought that maybe the tri in him was trying to escape LOL !
