Bring your own shampoo?

So wish Sca luck as he is going for his first grooming trip Friday. The lady seemed knowledgable despite calling it 'hygienic' instead of poop shoot

But I am wondering. Would a groomer be upset/offended if you brought shampoo? I have some white on white and conditioner and just love how Sca looks and felt after I did it so..... What say you veterans of he puppy beauticians?

I am in no way a professional, but I have had dog owners bring thier shampoos here. And I know,a groomer not far from here, that gladly welcomed what I used on my dogs when we went there.

I woul not think it woul be a problem,as I am sure they are faced with many a differant circumstances, dogs with allergies etc..

I would, why not? Especially if it works well, you actually coating her less money, by nor using her supplies.

I say go for it! If they get offended, then find someone else the next time :wink2: You can't beat the great job that the White on White does on their fur. I am lucky that this is what my groomer chooses to use.

My groomer is having a baby today, so I think it will be awhile before mine go to the groomer again.  (Yes, that means Jennifer is having a baby!)

The last time they got a shampoo though I just used hers, but I know she wouldn't have a problem if I brought my own. She had some of the same stuff I had, and a few different shampoos I wanted to try.

Waaayyy back when (almost 20 years ago) when we would have our dog groomed, who also had DM, we would bring the shampoo since it was a special kind for them to use. THey had no problem with it.

OT Jessica did she have Terra yet? I keep looking to see if Terry updated...

To tell you the truth...I'm not sure. :confused2: I haven't seen anything else posted on facebook. I kind of hate to send her a text message and be all like "where yo baybeh at?"

Going to Texarkana tomorrow, but I don't know if she would still be in the hospital, or if she would be home. :confused2: Deidra (her mom) hasn't posted anything either. There will probably be an update tomorrow, I bet.

When I met Jennifer one of the first things she told me about her son, Luke, was that he could be anything he wanted to be - as long as he liked dogs. So I guess she just gave birth to another junior handler.

I have one person who brings her own shampoo and conditioner, and it's really bad. I hate that artificial stink they put in shampoos, so I tend to buy ones that don't stink, for myself and my dogs. Herbal Essence is about the grossest shampoo made because of the stink. Anyway, the stuff this lady brings is like PetSmart shelf generic shampoo and conditioner that stinks. I hate it. It doesn't rinse well and it leaves the coat way to soft.

So if you are taking a medical shampoo or a good shampoo (CC falls in that category), then by all means yes, take it. But leave the generic crap shampoo at home.

 actually I was thinking she might use generic to save $$$ and I have some CC here. Of course Sca is a soft coat anyway rather than course IMO so it does leave him softer.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.
